Appointment day!

1.Welcome!

I’m so happy you’ve decided to move forward and get your procedure done by me! How exciting, and possibly a little nerve racking for you, I understand. I’m here to talk you through the entire process and make sure we are on the same page before tattooing.

2. Consultation.

Unless we had a personal consultation prior to booking your appointment, we will go more in depth about the style you are looking for. This is where your photos/reference are very helpful. I will also take “before” photos of you before we begin.

*I require you to consult with me first if you want me to tattoo your eyeliner exactly how you draw them yourself, with no adjustments. I’ll need to keep note of your exact design.

3. Design.

Once we have discussed the design , I will get the skin cleaned and prepped for mapping (creating the design). If we are doing a Lash Liner, no design is needed. Once design is in place, we will take your “approval” pictures of the design before moving forward. From there, I will use anesthetic to get the area area prepped for tattooing.

4. Tattoo Time!

During the tattooing process, I do multiple passes/layers per section. Typically, the first pass is to secure the design and the rest of the passes are to build up color. Anesthetic is used to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. The tattooing process itself takes about 1-1/2 hours.

5. Aftercare.

When we are all done the tattoo process, I will let you see the final results! We will take your “after” photos and then discuss your aftercare (listed below) when you checkout, I will give you your aftercare products to take home and use.

AFTERCARE

Aftercare is rather simple so try not to overthink, however don’t forget it is open skin. Keeping products and bacteria away from the open area of the skin will help reduce the risk of irritation or possible infection. Follow the simple aftercare rules below and you will be fine.

CLEANSE AREA 2 TIMES A DAY.

Cleanse (morning & night) with provided or recommended aftercare cleanser. Use clean cotton round and dampen with cleanser. Do a couple gentle swipes over the area using a back and forth motion. Let airdrop, do not rinse off. Light layer of aftercare balm recommended to apply after cleaning.

BLOT AREA FREQUENTLY.

With a clean tissue, blot the area frequently throughout the day for the first 2 days. This is to ensure lymphatic fluid will not sit on top of the tattoo. You do not want lymph fluid to dry and form a crust.

KEEP AREA DRY.

It is important to keep the area dry as much as possible (other than when cleansing). Excessive contact with water will dilute the pigment retention in the skin. When showering/bathing, be sure to keep the area out of direct streaming water as this may remove unhealed skin prematurely. Use a “hand cupping” motion to protect the area and simply wash hair and body in the shower. Keep a clean towel close by in order to pat dry if water gets on them.

Wash your face at the sink for more control. Use a damp washcloth to wet the skin around the cometic tattoo and remove facial cleanser around the area. (It is recommended to use a gentle facial cleanser on the skin the period of time you are healing to avoid skin irritation.) Cleanse the area after cleaning your face.

LIPS - Refrain from licking your lips, kissing and keep pets away. Drink through a straw when possible.

KEEP AREA CLEAN.

Keep makeup and other topical products (that are NOT the recommended aftercare) off and away from the area for the whole time your skin is healing. (This includes facial moisturizers, retinol, etc.)

NO EXERCISING.

On the day of your procedure as well as the week while you are healing, it is not advised to be active. Excessive sweating could result in loss of pigment retention in the skin.

DO NOT PICK!

Touching area (other than for cleansing) is not advised. Only ever touch with clean hands whilst healing.

When sleeping, do not lay on or rub area on bed/pillow. Sheets/pillow may pull unhealed skin prematurely causing pigment loss.

*The only thing that should touch your cosmetic tattoo the week while healing is the specified aftercare. Anything else may result in poor pigment retention in which additional sessions may be needed. This will be at an additional cost.

Infection:

Infections are rare but always possible. Signs of infection include: fever, prolonged or severe pain, redness, and swelling in the immediate area, along with a warm/radiating heat sensation; sores that contain or release thick white or yellow fluid, hard red raised bumps or wounds, nausea, vomiting. If you think you have an infection seek medical attention immediately!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all about my procedures, I know, especially for those who have not had cosmetic tattooing previously, you may have more questions for me to answer.
